Force HTTP to HTTPS on .htaccess

To redirect from HTTP to HTTPS using .htaccess please follow the below documentation:


  • Login to cPanel
  • Click File Manager

  • On the left side click on public_html

  • On the right side of the browser click on Setting

Setting public httml

  • Select Show Hidden Files (dotfiles)
  • Show hidden files in cpanel
  • Look for .htaccess If you can not find it create one, on the left top click on File and add the name .htaccess and hit Enter or save it.
  • Inside .htaccess add the following 3 lines and click save

RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{SERVER_PORT} 80
RewriteRule ^(.*)$$1 [R,L]

Make sure you modify with your actual website domain.


All traffic will be redirected to HTTPS now.
