What is FTP?
File Transfer Protocol usually called FTP is a way of exchanging data between two computers or one computer and a server.
To create an additional FTP account you will first need to login to your cPanel account. Once you have login in cPanel account look for section File (is usually first)
Click on FTP Accounts and the following page will be displayed
Make sure you complete all the above steps and on Directory you can specify which folder should this user only be able to access (If you leave it empty will be /public_html directory). For example, you might only want to give permission to a certain folder instead of the entire directory. To do that let's suppose that we only want this user to be able to access folder /hosting, to do this we will write it as /home/theelect/public_html/hosting, In other words, you will need to specify where the folder is located.
Once you have entered all the required steps click Create FTP account
As it can be seen in the above screenshot our new FTP Account has been created, from here we are able to see on what Path (folder) this user can only access, as well as Usage, Change password, change quota, Delete the FTP account and Configure FTP account.
That's all, you have successfully created a new FTP account.
