How To Protect Your Website Against A Cross-Site Scripting (XSS)

Cross-site scripting is a type of computer security vulnerability typically found in web applications. XSS enables attackers to inject client-side scripts into web pages viewed by other users. A cross-site scripting vulnerability may be used by attackers to bypass access controls such as the same-origin policy.

To protect against XSS:

  1. Login to cPanel
  2. Go to 'Nginx Cluster Control' section and select 'CLOUDNS' (is located at the bottom of page)
  3. Select the domain you wish to enable the protection for from the dropdown list
  4. Click configure
  5. Select Application Settings
  6. Enable the 'xss_filter' option
  7. Click 'Submit'
